      MOM & POP Weekend        Registration Opens Up!

A "Battle for Connection"

As most of you know, or will know, NewWay Ministries is offering a Movement Of Mystery toward the Purpose of Parenting (a MOM & POP Weekend) for individuals willing and eager to enter the real battle for connection, with all its obstacles and possibilities.  This weekend (Thursday dinner through Sunday lunch) will be held at the beautiful Glen Eyrie Conference Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

 

Similar to our upcoming Weekend of Oneness (WOO) we want to produce a two-part DVD series on parenting for use with individuals or couples in their homes, in small group settings or Sunday School type formats.  Part 1 will uncover the "battle for connection" in a teaching format.  We then envision Part 2 as a much more interactive time, much like a small group, involving live, unscripted conversation with individuals as they aim toward the connection God designed for families.

 

The first MOM & POP 1 and 2 weekends will be a  pilot experience.  We will do no videotaping.  It is rather designed to give Larry a chance to think through the best way to engage parents for teaching purposes on their journey towards a connection with thier children.  If things go as we expect, we will schedule a second MOM & POP Weekend for videotaping the parenting curriculum. 

 

Because this first MOM & POP weekend is a pilot, we have kept the cost down.  We do expect, however, that the days we spend together will be deeply insightful and impactful for all who attend.  Larry will lead you through an honest, deeply personal, thoroughly biblical and , for many, perhaps a paradigm-changing 4 day weekend.

 

We are accepting only 30 individuals for each weekend.  Dates for applying and application procedures are listed later in this announcement.  We anticipate receiving far more applications than we can accept, so please apply as soon as possible.

  • The actual application and more information can be found on our website (www.newwayministries.org). Additional details listed below.
  • Due to limited space and demand we are currently only accepting applications from married couples who will attend together and/or single (widowed or divorced) parents.
  • Applications can be recieved immediately via fax (303.670.3015) or mailed to the address below.
  • The cost for the 4-day retreat is $125.00 per person for tuition and $686.00 per room (meals/breaks inlcuded). Transportation to/from the Glen is the responsiblilty of each individual.

 What does "meaningful relational engagement" as defined by the Bible look like? 

Are you a "holy parent"? Are you ready to "connect" differently?

Join us-

IF:

   you are willing and eager to explore what is happening beneath the surface in you as you parent your child and in your child as he/she develops.

IF:

   you are open to placing the desire to be a "holy parent" above your desire to raise a godly, responsible, emotionally healthy child.

IF:

   you agree that parenting which seeks to release a child's heart to love God, trust Jesus, and follow the Spirit will necessarily confront the "foolishness bound up in a child's heart".

IF:

   you believe that "effective parenting techniques" must always take second place and emerge from the provision to your child of "meaningful relational engagement" as defined by the Bible.

THEN:

   we invite you to apply for admission to one of the two PILOT MOM & POP weekends by briefly (2-4 paragraphs per question) answering the three questions off the application (www.newwayministries.org). By submitting the application, you are agreeing (if accepted) to arrange for your transportation to and from the Glen, to arrive in time for dinner Thursday evening (5:30 p.m.) and to remain through lunch Sunday (ending at 1:00 p.m.), to observe all rules and policies of the Glen Eyrie, and to participate fully in all scheduled and directed activities of the weekend.
  Weekend #1:  For parents of children ages 0-12
